Q: How old are Au Pairs?
A: Usually between 18-25 years old?
Q: Can we choose where we get our Au Pair?
A: We have a Branch in Finland, so the most of our Au Pairs come from Finland.
Q: How long does it take to get an Au Pair?
A: It can take from few days up to one month. It all depends of the time, how many available Au Pairs we have and how long the position will last.
Q: What can Au Pairs do?
A: Au Pairs are living as part of the family and are helping the family with some cleaning and child care up to 25 hours/week.
Q: Who is Au Pair Plus?
A: Au Pair Plus will work up to 35 hours/week. That is the only difference.
Q: How much does an Au Pairs earn?
A: Au Pairs will earn ~ £65 /weekly and Au Pair Plus will earn ~ £100 /weekly
Q: I’m working part-time, can Au Pair help me out with child care?
A: Only if Children are old enough to be left alone with Au Pair. Au Pairs cannot be left sole care of children under 3 years, and can only babysit short time.
Q: I don’t have children and I can only offer cleaning duties to be done. Is that ok?
A: In this situation we would recommend you to employ a Cleaner as Au Pairs generally do not want to accept positions like this.
Q: Can we have a live-out Au Pair?
A: Live out applicants are generally called ‘Mothers help’ and they get paid more than Au Pairs.
Q: We are going abroad but can not take Au Pair with us. Is that fine?
A: Au Pairs are treated as part of the family and they usually travel with the family, however Au Pair can stay behind. Remember still to pay his/her weekly salary even when not working and remember to add some money for food etc.
Q: Can I share my Au Pair with other family?
A: Au Pair is placed with one family. If the Au Pair wants to earn extra money the other family will have to pay at least the minimum hourly salary and make sure to pay possible taxes and NI.
Q: Who pays the Au Pairs travel cost?
A: Au Pair will pay her return ticket (usually with open return) and family will pay the tickets if Au Pair is travelling with the family.
Q: Does Family need to pay the English course cost?
A: No, but most of the families pay part of the cost. It is totally voluntary.
Q: Do I need to show around the London?
A: Not necessary, Au Pairs are happy to explore with their new friends.
